OK Coupon Queens,
I'm really feeling the love for Albertson's this morning as I stare and stare at my stocked pantry shelves. It wasn't like I made a killing like some of you have posted, but I was just shocked how much I brought home for $50:
-40 cans of baby food
-20 cans of vegetables
-2 3.5-lb. pot roasts
-10 lbs potatoes
-2 lbs carrots
-5 cans of Progresso soup (1 of which was 15 cents)
-4 boxes of good cereal (meaning not Malt O Meal, which is good too, but less so)
-Also, construction paper and parchment paper, which weren't on sale
I'm curious how much this would have cost at Wal-Mart or CostCo, just to know if the coupon thing is really a good way to go. It seemed like I got a ton more food for the money though. Plus, in a twisted kind of housewifey way, it was kind of fun.
Next, I made a stop at Harmons to pick up 5 California Pizza Kitchen pizzas for $15 with a $15 mail-in rebate, so they were free. That was definitely a good deal.
I'm planning to give my coupon days a 6-month trial period to see if it's worth it. But since this was week 1, I think I already dig it.

Okay, okay! I think I better get going too! That's so awesome! More food for the buck!
I'm excited. Then I saw Darci at the park and she was like, "Too bad nothing was on sale for the last two weeks." So now I'm really excited because this was a down week and I still feel like I scored!
I'm so proud of you! You'll have to teach me your couponing ways.
Thanks for the tip Katie!!! Hey I need your email!!!! So send it to me if you want to keep up on our blog.

Ok seriously how did you get baby food that cheap! I need some now!!!! Can you let me in on the secret?
Hey I am glad you are getting into it! I get so excited each time I go still! It is amazing that you can get such good deals. It makes me wonder how I was so oblivious to this for so long! I agree with Darci that the sales of not been that great the last couple of weeks. Rumor had it that Albertsons is gearing up for a big sale!! I hope it is true!
I'm glad you're getting "into" it. Fun. I get a "grocery high" every time I go shopping now and come home with mega deals and save mega bucks. Oh and the free carrots were yummy. Not to mention the bat BLTs, eyeball punch, and the best ever pumpkin roll--will you email me the recipe for that one?
I love getting good deals anywhere, but grocery deals are awesome. That sounds like an incredible deal. Pretty sure you couldn't have done it cheaper. I haven't used grocerysmarts, but I've had a few people recommend it, so perhaps I will have to finally give it a try. Keep us posted on your housewife triumphs!
GOod for you!
I think that coupons are worth it if you like to buy the new products anyway and if you eat the stuff normally advertised anyway. It didn't work for us because I ended up buying things we didn't normally consume and started buying things just because I had a coupon and could get it for 10 cents. We gave a lot of food away or ended up trashing it.
Nonetheless...I am all for saving money, so I commend you for your efforts.
I'm still on the coupon fence. It always sets in my mouth the wrong way when you go to one of those things and 3/4 of the presentation is the pitch (not that it wasn't a fabulous pitch!). I keep telling myself that I'm going to just be vigilant about watching the website and marking down what I would truly buy so I can see what I would have saved without putting out the $30+ for 3 months of newspapers...but have I done it? Not yet. But we definitely need to cut our grocery budget. It is embarassing how much we spend on food! No wonder we never lose any weight! :-)
I am thrifty, but I don't really do grocery store coupons that much. I am going to have to work on that! You have inspired me.
